Amy’s been cutting my hair since before she opened Red Chair Salon. She’s always been great about giving me the cut that I want. All of the stylists there are very personable and I have several friends that get their hair done @ RCS. We also take my 3-year-old there to get his hair cut. Without hesitation, I recommend Red Chair and any of the stylists there to all of my friends
I told Rita “I’m seeing my hypercritical mom this weekend. Please make my hair look nice.” Well, my mom (and my sister) could not stop talking about how great my hair looked all weekend! After my appt my long thick unruly hair was lighter (weight wise), cuter, and straighter!
Their web address, www.redchairrocks, is right. They’ve been wrangling my prone-to-poofiness hair for years; she’s the only person I’ve found who really gets what my hair does and is able to persuade it to do something I like. She’s also very generous on the rare occasions when I want something touched up after a cut. Rock on, Red Chair!
Katherine was great! I left as happy as I’ve ever been with my hair. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, giving suggestions and double-checking to make sure she understood. I went a little out of my comfort zone with this cut [my idea] but she did such a great job and it matched exactly what I had in my head. Everyone was really friendly and the prices were reasonable. I’ll definitely return
I went here as a walk-in with the intention of lightening my hair a bit. The stylist talked me out of it, and I’m glad she did because what we did instead ended up being awesome and looking really natural and stunning. Thanks ladies!!
Had a wonderful cut w/Alida. Walked in with a disaster – she knew exactly what my hair needed. I asked for something that could be worn curly or straight since my hair dries curly but I often use flat irons. The test is always the next time I wash it – it passed with flying colors! Alida is a lot of fun to talk to as well!
I was in the area and had heard that Red Chair was a good place to go due to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I stopped in on a day when both of the salon owners were there. Both Howie and Amy are very personable, and it was a fun time. Amy did a great job with my haircut, but I wouldn’t hesitate to let any of the stylists cut my hair. They all seemed easy going as well and very professional.
I decided to dye my normally dark dark dark brown locks pastel purple. My Little Pony lavender. You get the idea… A daunting prospect. I booked an appt w/Stephine at Red Chair. I’m not sure what kind of magic she wields – but there’s definitely some kind of sorcery involved. In addition to her mad skills Red Chair has an uber-cute shop dog and is staffed by really friendly folks, and has pretty reasonable pricing. So did I get what I expected today? Nope, I got even better!
I really love Red Chair Salon. The stylists are really sweet and fun to chat with. I’ve never had any trouble making appointments. The theater style seating is cute, and I like seeing the resident dog every once in a while. I also like that it’s right near a coffee shop so I can swing by for a pastry before or after my hair cut.
Amy cut my hair and it looks amazing!! I couldn’t be more happy. I look like my old self again. It compliments my face and highlights my curls. She was funny, chatty and we had a real conversation that wasn’t It’s true RED CHAIR ROCKS!
Nice sign that sticks out and is very easy to spot. woohoo. I liked the decor, laid back and edgy. Maybe that sounds contradictory but either way I felt comfortable and had fun.
This salon is fabulous and unpretentious. After 2 weeks at Burning Man – my hair was destroyed. Rita put in some subtle highlights and low lights that brought my natural red color back to life. She took time to listen to and give me what I wanted. I left with my hair soft, shiny and manageable. The best part is that it’s affordable and only 4 blocks away from my apt! I would recommend to see Rita; she is really friendly and a stellar hair artist! I got several compliments on my walk home from the salon. See you again in 6 weeks 🙂
I’m here for the cuts and colors.. This place just keeps getting better. Tip: The stylists sure give a nice head massage with your shampoo, just sayin!
My hair is the worst. I told Katherine what I want and she simply replied, “No problem!” and went to work. She’s funny, nice , cool and doesn’t drown you in conversation. She has no judgment on any hair types or hairstyle decisions and seems like she’d do whatever you wanted without making you feel weird. She always ensures you’re happy before you leave. I’m offered drinks and I’m petting the salon dogs while I wait for my hair hero. It’s comfortable. The prices are not nearly as bad as other places I’ve been. If you’re looking for someone to tackle your terrible hair, book with Katherine. She’s dreamy!
I went there after my hair caught on fire. the left half of my head had second degree burns and the right half was still down to my shoulders and I still had my bangs. they managed to make it look good with three colors and keep my bangs. I’ve been there two other times. the second time my hair ended up dark blue and black like i wanted and the third time they made my hair platinum blond. they are amazing and wonderful and kind and understanding.
My friends cant stop talking about my hair! I have fine, curly, mousy brown hair, and never know what to do with it. I’ve seen Alida twice now for foils and cuts, and she’s always so gentle and extremely meticulous. She’s given my hair a distinct style to match my personality, and I couldn’t be more excited to keep coming back for more!
Hair dresser actually listened to what I requested: check! Totally unpretentious, not making me feel bad about never blow drying my hair attitudes: check! Dried the cut and then went back on her own to make adjustments without me asking: check! Didn’t feel intimidated to ask for it to be a bit shorter: check! No awkward conversation and just the right amount of banter: check! All in all, this was the best hair cut I’ve had in a long time, and for less money!
I was a little nervous as I have never dyed my hair before. My friends recommendeded Amy at Red Chair. She was amazing! She helped me pick the best color possible and gave me an adorable hair cut. I love the Red Chair Salon. It’s the only hair cutting place I’ve walked into and actually felt comfortable enough to hang out there. Every time I go, the cuts keep getting better. I walked out of their feeling like a million dollars! I can’t wait to go back. bonus! There’s an adorable black lab that hangs out sometimes! I got my dog fix and beauty fix all in one!
After a disastrous cut at another salon which resulted in the majority of my hair being chopped off and dyed a color I hated, I went in to Red Chair Salon rather nervously. I have very curly, thick hair. Alida did a tremendous job cutting & coloring my hair. She was patient, friendly, and above all turned my hair into something I really love.
This place is awesome! I just moved her from New York and turned to Yelp to find a salon. I liked the reviews of this place a lot because it seemed like it had a super fun atmosphere but wasn’t too snooty like a lot of up-scale salons. I was able to get a next day appointment (on Friday, a busy day usually) and book it online which was fantastic. I got exactly what I wanted and didn’t rush me at all. We shut down the place and I couldn’t believe how patient she was even though it was so late on a Friday.
Red Chair Salon is amazing! I went in with hair down to the small of my back, wanting to cut it short & donate it to Locks of Love. They took care of everything. The stylist took on the task & did such an awesome job! I’m still loving the style she called “A-symmetrical Pixie”, it’s easy & so SASSY! I’ll definitely be referring friends to the Red Chair, and also will be going back for follow-up maintenance of my new do. Did I mention how AWESOME this place is?
