ABOUT : LAKEN’S  WORK
What would you like people to know about your work?  I always strive to give people versatility with their styles. I want to make sure someone has something that looks great on days where they can’t be bothered and looks amazing when they have that time to do a little self care with products and heat styling.

Why did you want to be a hair stylist?  Growing up I wanted to work somewhere that I could express myself and help others express themselves.

Where did you go to school?     La’ James in Davenport, Iowa

What are your specialties?  Blonding, vibrant/vivid rainbow hair, razor cuts, and I also love doing perms if you ever want to live your Cher in Moonstruck fantasy.

What do you love most about being a stylist? I love helping people be able to show off their personal identity with style. While it’s true that looks aren’t everything, having a great cut and color that makes you want to take a ton of selfies helps give you the confidence to feel like you can do anything.

What inspires you / What influences your style?   I’ve always been really inspired by late 70s/80s punk and new wave and cartoons be it Jem and The Holograms or anime.

Favorite Hair Style & Hair Products?  I love A-line bobs, i feel like it’s a good, classic cut that has a lot of versatility. And I low-key love doing mullets. For products I love Moroccan Oil, Sexy Hair Powder Play, and a really good matte texturizing paste.

Anything else you’d like to share with your clients?   While big changes can be a journey and not a one and done experience I always want to make sure with each visit you are leaving with something that you can rock and feel confident in while we work on getting you to your goal.
